My name is Jac’Quan H. Thompson. I am blessed to be a born and raised in the greatest city in the world, New York City, and more specifically “The Bronx”. As a youngster from a huge urban area like New York, I have developed unique qualities that have molded me into the man that I have become today. To standout in New York you need to be hardworking, dynamic, and most of all a leader. It has not always been easy for me, but the reward will be ultimately worth it in the end. After High School I decided to go out of my comfort zone and attend SUNY Adirondack in Queensbury, NY. Queensbury is quite culturally different than the Bronx, but this place has felt like a second home to me over these last couple year’s. I struggled a little bit at first, but eventually found my path and I decided that I wanted to step up as a leader on campus and in the community. I decided to become a member of the College Activity Board. Along with that I have also became an member for the Professional Recognition Committee and I am proud to announce that I will be SUNY Adirondack’s 2017-2018 Student Trustee within our Board of Trustees. I have also worked hard to earn a spot on the Men’s Basketball Team. It’s a blessing to look at how far I have came from being an average kid from the Bronx to being an advocate for our SUNY System. I will continue to remain focused and tenacious to ensure that the students in the SUNY system are inspired to finish school and become successful.
