As the SUNY Student Assembly Deputy Chief of Staff Carolyn works with the President and Chief of Staff to manage the day-to-day administration and operations of the Office of the President. She has served the SUNY Student Assembly in an administrative capacity for the past two and a half years. She is continuing on in her role as Deputy Chief of Staff and formerly worked as Special Assistant to the President for Past President Thomas Mastro.
Her work with student governance began in the Fredonia Student Association where she held positions such as Chief of Staff, Associate Justice, and Secretary. She was also an undergraduate Teaching Assistant and Student Ambassador in the Biology Program. Most recently her curiosities for the world around her lead her to become a certified open water SCUBA diver.
Carolyn’s communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities stem from her science background. She recently graduated cum laude from SUNY Fredonia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry, and is pursuing a Masters of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from the University at Albany School of Public Health.
Carolyn grew up in Chili, NY, a suburb of Rochester. She graduated from Churchville-Chili Senior High School in 2013. She is excited for the year ahead and is confident in the abilities of her peers to work together to make SUNY the best it can be for its students.
The Deputy Chief of Staff serves ex-officio as a non-voting observer of all committees of the Assembly.
