Arthur joined the SUNY Student Assembly as Deputy Director of Communications in January 2016, and has since served SA as Deputy Director of Academic Affairs, Director of Communications, and Senior Adviser to the Vice President before his appointment as Senior Director of Communications in September 2017.
Arthur spent his first year of college at American University in Washington, DC, before transferring to SUNY Empire State College. While at American, he served the Residence Hall Association in several roles, concluding his tenure as National Communications Coordinator and liaison to the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH). He also served as Co-Chair and member of several committees of NACURH’s Central Atlantic Affiliate following his tenure as National Communications Coordinator.
Arthur previously interned for the New York State Assembly and represented Long Island on Empire State College’s Student Activity Fee Committee. He spent four semesters working with the Office of External Affairs and Alumni Relations and Office of Communications at SUNY System Administration, and currently works as a student assistant at the SUNY Academic and Innovative Leadership (SAIL) Institute. He was born and raised on Long Island and has been involved in student governance and leadership since his freshman year of high school.
