Kate Wood is a fierce advocate for social change and female empowerment. She has put her exemplary leadership skills to work as a lifelong athlete, team captain and peer influencer. Kate has worked to merge her personal beliefs with her studies during her tenure at SUNY Oneonta, where she is a senior majoring in Political Science and minoring in Women and Gender Studies. She spent a semester learning about state government as a Session Assistant in the New York State Senate, and was elected by her student-colleagues to serve as their leader during the annual Model Legislative Session event. After completing her work as a Session Assistant she was kept on to work as a Legislative Aide for the remainder of the 2018 Legislative Session. Kate is excited to begin working with the other distinguished members of the SUNY Student Assembly, and advocate for change and prosperity for the SUNY System on behalf of her peers.
