The Student Assembly is searching for an Interim Secretary to serve from November 11, 2017 (the date of election) through April 7, 2018 (when the Assembly elects a new Secretary for the 2018-19 term). Below is an outline of the job responsibilities and other information on how to apply, if you are interested in the position.

  • The Secretary serves as a voting member of both the Executive Board and the Executive Committee and is expected to attend all meetings of the Student Assembly and its component units. The Secretary also serves as a non-voting observer on all other committees of the Student Assembly.
  • The primary role of the Secretary is to keep minutes and all other documents of the Student Assembly and the Executive Committee. The Secretary’s responsibilities are set by provisions of the Policies of the Board of Trustees, the Bylaws of the Student Assembly, and the Policies and Procedures of the Executive Committee.
  • The Secretary also works closely with the Communications team on developing branding policy and works with the Director of Rules and other members of the administration to distribute resolutions to members of the Executive Committee.

All candidates must be present at the Student Assembly’s Executive Committee meeting on November 11, 2017 for the election. The meeting will be held on the campus of SUNY Plattsburgh in Plattsburgh, NY. All applicants will be responsible for transportation and lodging expenses.
